Donald W. "Don" Watson, age 81, passed from this life on August 2, 2024 at 12:20 p.m., surrounded by his family. Don was born in Eldorado on April 23, 1943 to C. Don Watson and Pauline Emery Watson. On January 4, 2001, he married Nicki Roberts Watson and she survives.
Don was a graduate of Eldorado Township High School Class of 1961. He was a coal miner, having retired from Peabody Coal after 40 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and Eldorado Eagles fan. He enjoyed gardening and riding his atv "mule" all over his property. He also loved to fish and was a cat lover. He served 16 years on the Eldorado Township Board and attended Mt. Pleasant Church.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by sons Mike (Angel) Watson of Conover, NC, Brian (Kim) Watson of Marion, IL, and Scott Watson, Daughters Chelle (Michael) Lehman of Iowa City, IA, Cathy (Marty) Turner of Washaw, NC, Step Daughter Lyndi Whitlock Lane (Rich) of Shelbyville, KY, Sister Beverly Walker of McLeansboro, IL, Sist
