Mary Ann Baldwin, 88, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of June 19, 2024 at her residence.
Mary Ann was born on September 24, 1935 to Lucille Goldie (Galiher) Thorn and James Ora Thorn in Hamilton County. She had one brother, John William Thorn.
She grew up on a farm ½ mile from the Saline/Hamilton County line near Broughton, IL.
Mary Ann attended Gholson Grove School through the sixth grade then attended school in Eldorado until her graduation from High School in 1953.
After graduation, Mary Ann joined the work force in Eldorado. During her working years she was employed at: Nuway Mercantile Co. as a saleslady in the Ladies Department, a receptionist at Ferrell Hospital, a secretary at the Eldorado Junior High School, and at the Saline County Circuit Clerk's Office. She retired in 1992.
On June 1, 1958, Mary Ann married Leonard Eugene Baldwin at Gholson Grove Baptist Church. Their wedding was the first wedding performed at that church. To this union two sons were born, Ala
