Oscar B. Camp

Oscar B. Camp "O. B.", 90, longtime resident of Eldorado, died on June 8, 2024, at his home on Lake Barkley in Kentucky.
O. B. was born October 20, 1933, in Texas City, Illinois, to Cecil C. and Nellie Williams Camp.
He graduated from the Eldorado High School in 1950, joined the U. S. Navy during the Korean War, and served from 1952-1956. During his service tenure, he was especially proud of the time spent in Antarctica as a part of the first stage of Operation Deep Freeze under Admiral Byrd, setting up an international research station. After service in the Navy, he graduated from Murray State University and became a teacher in the Eldorado School System for over 30 years, teaching algebra, trigonometry, chemistry, and physics in high school and math and science in middle school. After retirement from the Eldorado School System, O. B. started a tax preparation business, and enjoyed working with the many people he assisted. In retirement, he especially enjoyed his time at Lake Barkley
