John Daniel Aldridge, 84, of Eldorado, passed away on June 6, 2024, at home surrounded by
his family.
John was born in Herald, IL on April 15, 1940, to the late Vivian D. and Gerturde (Schroeder)
Aldridge.
You never saw him without and usually matching the love of his life Sue (McGowan) Aldridge,
who he had the pleasure of being married almost 62 years. Together they built a legacy of
seven children, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. As you can imagine with that
many kids came a lot of sports, which grew his passion for the Eldorado Eagles. Throughout
the years he rarely, if ever, missed a sporting event of a family member. John was one of the
most selfless men you would ever meet, always doing for others expecting nothing in return. He
never thought about his own needs instead constantly making sure he put others first. In fact,
the only hobby that comes to mind was making sure he attended every single game, birthday or
